Omfg the way they operate, could it really mean that NATO training doctrine is something like

“If you see a mine exploding? this is good, Russia is very poor and they don’t have any ammo left. This means they probably only have 1 mine, so if it explodes then that area is clear for you and your buddies to jump and run around in”

There are at least several video of our NATO trained Ukrainian soldiers jumping into minefields, sometimes mere seconds after somebody else got blown up. Can anybody clarify?

Trenches were mined. When others came closer, guy in the trench screaming “ don’t jump in! Mines!!!” 2 of them sat down but the 3rd dude rushed in and it detonated right away.

I have never seen a mine explode that far away from a person and I don’t think they use tripwire? I think it was just another pilot dropping something from a drone and missing his target?

Edit: some mines can detonate up to 50 meters away from the person but that could be chatgpt hallucinating, maybe WhiskeyOutpost knows?

Why not tripwire? Effective to cover wide pathways.

Yup, and even more than 50m.
When i was in the army, we were taught rigging such mines onto trees etc. The mine comes with a tripwire kit + zip ties/spikes to drive into the ground. There are also anty armor mines that you can place next to the road or onto trees and lay down the wire accross the road. If a vehicle crosses the tripwire, it will trigger the shaped charge.

The explosion in the video seems too large to be a drone dropped bomblet. My guess is that its a mine.
Ukrainians wouldnt also bother to go after him if they wanted him dead.
