Russian troops hit bridge in Chernihiv region

On Sunday, April 9, 2023, Russian combat aircraft hit the road bridge across the Sudost River in Ukraine's Chernihiv region. Enemy propaganda claimed the goal was to hinder "Ukrainian saboteurs’" work.

This was officially confirmed by the OC North of the AFU.

On April 9 at approximately 11:54, it was reported that a rocket launched by a Russian aircraft from Russian Federation territory caused an explosion in the settlement of Gremyach, resulting in the destruction of infrastructure. Ukraine’s Armed Forces confirmed that there was no information about casualties among the local population.

Meanwhile, Yevgeny Poddubny, a propagandist from the aggressor country and special correspondent for the TV channels "Russia-24" and "Russia-1", provided photos, videos, and technical details of the attack.

According to Poddubny, pilots from the Western Military District flying Su-34s targeted a bridge across the Sudost River in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, not far from the village of Gremyach. He claims that the bridge was heavily damaged as a result of the fire caused by the missile.

Poddubny further alleges that the bridge was being used by a subversive and intelligence group from the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to infiltrate Russian territory and attack residents in the Bryansk region.

He states that the pilots used the Kh-29TD air-to-surface missile, designed specifically to destroy reinforced concrete structures and bridges."
