Not necessarily a dead sergeant. The driving permit was issued by a sergeant though. Its hard to make out what his actual rank was, although his service number is an old Royal Navy one.

None of the other pictures look like wearing British kit, so it's possible someone left their driving permit in a vehicle donated by Britain?

Could be, OP stated that this piece belong to the guy whose picture you can see on another document. But I agree, not necessarily dead British
