Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR) launched a cyberattack on russia’s North Caucasus Federal University, a key institution training drone operators and digital specialists for the russian army. The attack, confirmed by a source to UkrInform, destroyed over 150 terabytes of crucial data, including files from 135 servers and 7,000 computers.

The university supports multiple institutions across russia, providing vital training for military operations, including drone warfare. Ukrainian forces regularly face drone assaults targeting critical infrastructure, and this operation strikes at the core of russia’s drone strategy.

By compromising the university’s infrastructure, HUR not only deleted critical data but also disrupted russia’s ability to train future military specialists, weakening its operational capacity. For Ukraine, this cyberattack diminishes russia's ability to deploy drones effectively, giving Kyiv an advantage in the ongoing technological battle.
