Tucker Carlson Says Trip to Russian Grocery Store Has ‘Radicalized’ Him Against US Leaders: ‘Legitimately Angry’

Tucker Carlson says he went “from amused to legitimately angry” at U.S. political leaders during a recent trip to a Moscow grocery store, where the independent conservative journalist and his crew guessed that a cart full of food would cost about the equivalent of $400 in American dollars – and it came in around a hundred bucks.

“Coming to a Russian grocery store, the ‘heart of evil,’ and seeing what things cost and how they live, it will radicalize you against our leaders,” Carlson said in the video shot on-site as he shopped for eggs, bread, wine and other staples. “That’s how I feel, anyway, radicalized. We’re not making any of this up, by the way. At all.”

Carlson has been spending time in Russia recently around last week’s landmark interview with president Vladimir Putin, the first time an American journalist sat with an adversarial head-of-state in wartime. His visit has included time spent filming in an orderly and opulent Moscow subway station and the grocery-shopping trip, which was featured exclusively on the former Fox News host’s subscription platform (but excerpted by various users on X):

Tucker Carlson says that the experience of shopping at a Russian grocery store, recognizing their high standard of living and low costs, all supposedly in the “heart of evil” has radicalized him against Western leaders. pic.twitter.com/glBZQdpUIO
— Ian Miles Cheong (@stillgray) February 15, 2024

“So we were guessing what this would cost,” Carlson said as he puts his items on the belt. “Everybody [in the crew] is from the United States … and we didn’t pay any attention to cost, we just put in the cart what we would actually eat over a week. We all [guessed] around $400 bucks. It was $104 U.S. here. And that’s when you start to realize that ideology doesn’t matter as much as you thought.”

Carlson launched his independent media network on X after he was fired by Fox News last year. Untethered from corporate media handlers, an emboldened Carlson has taken on several controversial topics – but nothing, not even an interview with Infowars host Alex Jones, has been as polarizing, or perhaps as personally impactful, as his trip to Russia.

“If you take people’s standard of living and you tank it through filth and crime and inflation, and they literally can’t buy the groceries they want, at that point maybe maybe it matters less what you say or whether you’re a ‘good person’ or a ‘bad person,’ you’re wrecking people’s lives and their country,” said Carlson, who has questioned U.S. support of Ukraine’s defense since his days on Fox News. “And that’s what our leaders have done to us.”

Carlson should try working for 500 dollars a month, and then go to the store and pay 100 dollars for food. He would shit himself laughing.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media IV

The guy is even dumber as i thought lol
Average salary a month in russia is around $1,118 and in the states $6,225 so if it was one on one the food should have cost around $72 but because of the war life is going to be more expensive by the day. Maybe he can move to there and become segal's neighbor?

Russia’s army and its weapons factories are sucking in a growing number of workers as Moscow braces itself for a long war in Ukraine, leaving civilian sectors with painful labour shortages and destabilising the broader economy.

“The labour market is extremely tight,” the head of a big Russian mining company told the Financial Times. “It is not just the mobilisation, or people fleeing Russia. The main problem is arms production.”

The labour shortages have helped expose weaknesses in the Russian economy that contradict the rosy picture painted by the Kremlin.

President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly pointed to Russia’s rising gross domestic product as proof of its economic health and the failure of either war or western sanctions to inflict serious damage. But economists say the figures are flattered by big increases in defence spending and conceal structural problems that could be destabilising in the longer term.

Russia is not alone among industrialised economies in having a very tight labour market, and the fact that its population is ageing and shrinking only worsens the shortages.

But the war makes Russia’s crisis particularly severe. Last year, 300,000 men were suddenly mobilised for fighting after Ukraine had stopped the Russian invasion in its tracks. Hundreds of thousands more, most of them educated young men, fled abroad to avoid conscription, an exodus that badly hit IT and other sectors reliant on highly skilled labour.
Sending farmers to the weapons factories or the front so they have to import more stuff sooner or later making it even more expensive.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media IV

Tonight, according to local media, a 'building' is on fire in Central Russia Izhevsk. Local media still not naming what excactly is burning. In total, more than 70 specialists and 33 pieces of equipment were involved in the liquidation.

As previously reported, there is a fire in a building in Udmurtia and the fire area is around 2.800 square meters. Traditionally there are no casualties reported.

A screenshot of a video from a russian chat could give a tip that it might be Wildberries warehouses.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media IV

I agree wholeheartedly with Tucker.
It seems like it would be a dream to live in a country where there wasn’t violent bums crawling through the streets of every big city, rot, filth, vomit, piss, shit, porn in our children’s schools etc.

But here in the USA, pervert leftists rule with an iron fist, through every Fortune 500 company, all the way down to Hollywood, academia, tech sector, courtrooms. Sure Russia may not be a shining beacon of democracy, but if you have a democracy, there is *nothing* stopping murderous Marxists from infiltrating every facet of power, and enforcing their perversions onto their surfs.

Maybe you guys like being surfs to these demons, but I like to not go along with what the power structure tells me I should do.

I remember when “Rage against the machine” was a cool and edgy band, now they just regurgitate every talking point approved by billionaire corporations and the government. What rebels they are wow!! How brave!!

Pervert leftists lol
This is not a discussion between leftists and right wingers in the U.S. but i have to reply to this although i'm not left nor right although i lean more to the right in certain views.

Last 32 years shows 42 cases of Republicans in volved in sex scandals and 14 Democrats. Power and money corrupts so i don't like 90% of all Politicians.

Tucker's history is enough for me to not agree with him plus the many conspiracy/false facts and anti democracy bs he spews. (Just to get some media views$ imo)

Trump and his false claims about the 2020 election he lost and telling his audience “These caucuses are your personal chance to score the ultimate victory over all of the liars, cheaters, thugs, perverts, frauds, crooks, freaks, creeps and other quite nice people,”.
Look who's talking lol He faces indictments on 91 criminal charges and a lot of people actually vote for him thinking this a way to silence him down while he repeatedly shouted on rallies, get her into jail and all that kind of inciting things dividing the country even further.

That's not new as many opponent political leaders across the world do the same especially in times of economic setbacks, inflation etc.
not gonna vote for a half demented president or for the above one because of the many indictments and things he falsely claimed that turned out not be true.

Well thank you at least for not banning me for having an unpopular opinion, I was actually nervous how it was going to go (my first few posts since I signed up)

I appreciate the discussion!
