Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media IV
Russian outlets also reported that Oleg Popov, former deputy of parliament for the Russian-occupied Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), was killed in a car explosion Wednesday. The LPR was established after Putin illegally annexed four Ukrainian regions in fall 2022. Law enforcement agencies told the Russian state-owned media outlet TASS that Popov was killed near the Avangard stadium in the city of Luhansk. Yuri Yurov, deputy of the LPR's parliament, also confirmed Popov's death on his Telegram channel. "As a result of a car explosion near the Avangard stadium in Lugansk, our colleague, a deputy of the People's Council of the LPR ... a member of the Donbass People's Militia, who stood up for the defense of the Republic from the first days, Oleg Nikolaevich Popov, died," Yurov wrote. According to Yurov's post, an individual employed by the Ukrainian SBU was detained in September 2022, accused of attempting to assassinate Popov. Ukrainian officials have not taken responsibility for Popov's death at this time. Kyiv has previously taken credit for the assassination of several pro-Russian officials since the start of the war in Ukraine. Moscow-backed officials have also been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian partisans in Russia-occupied areas of Ukraine. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media IV
The Zakarpatska Territorial Recruitment Center or TRC explained why their employees have been distributing mobilization summonses in gyms and recreation facilities in Facebook posts recently, saying that their employees were acting within the law. Representatives of TRC said that "in their opinion," men who "consciously avoid military service, go to gyms or relax in recreation complexes are not privileged compared to servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are holding the defense in difficult conditions and fighting the enemy." The presentation of a summons does not guarantee immediate conscription to war, according to representatives, as individuals must undergo data verification and a medical examination. If found suitable for military service, mobilized individuals will then proceed to training. The TRC reminded about the consequences of evasion and obstruction in the summons issuance process. Videos began to appear on social networks on Dec. 5, showing employees of TRC conducting raids in gyms in Uzhhorod. Later, similar events took place in Dnipro, Kyiv, and other cities. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media IV
https://apnews.com/article/russia-na...2904ed70ffc875 Navalny’s whereabouts are unknown and Russian prison says he’s no longer there, a spokeswoman says TALLINN, Estonia (AP) — The whereabouts of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny were unknown Monday as officials at the penal colony where he was serving his sentence told one of his lawyers that he is no longer on the inmate roster, the politician’s spokeswoman said after nearly a week of not being able to contact him. Prison officials “refuse to say where they transferred him,” Kira Yarmysh said in posts on X, formerly known as Twitter. A Navalny lawyer waiting at another penal colony in the region where the politician could have been transferred was told the facility had no such inmate, Yarmysh said. “It remains unclear where Alexei is,” she wrote. Navalny has been serving a 19-year term on charges of extremism in a maximum-security prison, Penal Colony No. 6, in the town of Melekhovo in the Vladimir region, about 230 kilometers (more than 140 miles) east of Moscow. He was due to be transferred to a “special security” penal colony, a facility with the highest security level in the Russian penitentiary system. Russian prison transfers are notorious for taking a long time, sometimes weeks, during which there’s no access to prisoners and information about their whereabouts is limited or unavailable. Navalny could be transferred to one of a number of such penal colonies across Russia. Yarmysh earlier on Monday said that Navalny was due to appear in court that day via video link but didn’t, and it has been six days since his lawyers or allies last heard from him. Navalny, 47, has been behind bars since January 2021. As President Vladimir Putin’s fiercest foe, he campaigned against official corruption and organized major anti-Kremlin protests. His arrest came upon his return to Moscow from Germany, where he recuperated from nerve agent poisoning that he blamed on the Kremlin. Navalny has since been handed three prison terms and spent months in isolation in the penal colony in the Vladimir region for alleged minor infractions. He has rejected all charges against him as politically motivated. Last week, Yarmysh said that for three days in a row Navalny’s lawyers spent hours at the penal colony waiting for permission to visit him, only to be turned away at the last minute. Letters to the politician were not being delivered, and he didn’t appear at scheduled court hearings via video link. Yarmysh said Friday that the developments were concerning given that Navalny recently fell ill: “He felt dizzy and lay down on the floor. Prison officials rushed to him, unfolded the bed, put Alexei on it and gave him an IV drip. We don’t know what caused it, but given that he’s being deprived of food, kept in a cell without ventilation and has been offered minimal outdoor time, it looks like fainting out of hunger.” She added that lawyers visited him after the incident and he looked “more or less fine.” |

Let's see if I can start a chant, NATO NOW, NATO NOW, NATO NOW ! Also, surprised that poo tin wasn't arrested & allowed to leave in one piece from the UAE on his latest trip, probably because if any government arrested or killed him the UAE would shut off their oil supply to the offending country. This world needs to change before we wipe our species out because of greed! |
