Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III
Tuesday the UN tweeted something about it being Russian language day. People did not respond well to that, at all. "The official UN Twitter account finally responded to the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant bombing, but with a very short message and no mention of Russia. " "Several UN vehicles parked in a Kyiv parking lot were decorated with eloquent posters." A protest is taking place near the UN office in Kyiv, with participants chanting "Shame" and "Get Russia out of the UN". They also threw down Russian-language books at the entrance to the UN Office. People are holding posters with the words "Russia is a terrorist state", "Russian is the language of violence", "United Nations is a sham". The action is peaceful, there have been no clashes so far, and law enforcement officers are present at the scene.

It's actually correct. Humanitarians as in aid workers, rescuers, Red Cross, do gooders... like the ones getting shelled in Kherson yesterday along with the citizens as they were trying to help evacuate them.

1. North Crimean Canal on 8 June. Locks are jammed. 2. More Russian soldiers stuck in trees in the "islands".

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III
A holy man helping rescue civilians could be considered a humanitarian... "Moshe Reuven Azman, Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, has been under shelling in Kherson. Russia does nothing to evacuate people from the left bank of Dnipro river, and tries to disrupt Ukrainian evacuation efforts."

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III
First I thought this protest was sarcastic; people wearing Ukraine flags pouring water onto a stream, as if to protest the supposed Ukrainian flooding of the reservoir prior to the attack, or maybe even the reports that the floodgates of Ukrainian dams into the river are still open (which is illogical as it would be jeopardising their own rescue missions). But then somebody explained to me that there is no deeper meaning behind this, it is just Ukrainians who thought it was clever to protest at the Russian embassy in Poland by pouring water Still, it counts as a protest so here it is: |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III
I already explained this before...but ill say it again here. The water is not magically transported into higher dimension if you close the dam gates upstream. Once you close the gates upstream, the river will start to fill that reservoir and will soon flood the upstream area or will overflow the dam, which is even worse( uncontrolled overflow may cause total dam collapse by eroding its foundation at max pressure ). The dam upstream is also a power station and ukraine needs all the power it can generate, since its energy sector has been under attack by the nazis for a year. The excess water that caused the flooding came from the reservoir. Once it drains, the waterlevel will recede back to its previous level. And, i wouldn't even say that the added water from the upstream dams makes rescue that much more difficult. At this point, i'd rather have some extra water and be able to use boats to evacuate than still have water, but ... so shallow that you can't use boats...but cant also use vehicles. I'd say, the damage is done and the water coming from upstream wont make much difference anymore...and since the dam won't be rebuilt for years/decades, you might as well get used to the new norm and deal with the situation. |

1. "Ufa, Russia. Minus 10 fuel tanks near the railroad." 2. "Terrorist Girkin-Strelkov asks: Where is Putin? Is there Putin at all? Good question."

"Ukraine managed to evacuate some people from temporarily occupied Oleshky - it was a risky and dangerous operation. Mrs Natalia, one of the rescued people, says she felt enormous relief when she saw "our guys". It's hard to even imagine what these people have been through. "
