"Deputy head of Russian parliament says he still apologizes to Russians for his daughter who spent two weeks in the US a while ago.

He thinks that an experience of living in the West contributes to being a bigger patriot of Russia.

For some reason, many of those patriots choose to remain in the West and love Russia dearly from there."

In the Russian mind, they are the chosen nation and the rest must submit to them.

By all means, they want to achieve victory in all areas of human action and prove that they are the best.

In the West, they will be confronted with their thinking and the feelings that they are the losers is unacceptable for them.

They last great victory was in World War 2 and something in sports.

The western world has a head start and they see it as unfair.

They are not capable of self-reflection because they never experienced what Germany went through after the war and then some states of the former Eastern Bloc after the fall of the Iron Curtain.

When they are confronted with the West, they perceive it as they themselves could have been and
they consider themselves as a victims.

Another version could be that he knows very well what is at stake in Russia and wants to protect his daughter by taking the blame on himself.

In any case, the children of oligarchs who study in the West have much more information than the majority of the Russian population.

I'm afraid it's too late. Putin has already managed to destroy Russia. Intelligence and opposition have either emigrated or are in prison. The children studying in the West have no interest in freedom and democracy, and even if they did, no one would listen anyway. The dissidents who had to emigrate know that a revolution cannot be made from abroad in Russia. Navalny knows this too, which is why he returned.

I like this video. It perfectly captures the Russian development before the war in Ukraine.
