German investigators accuse businessman Waldemar W. of being able to organise the supply of components for Russian drones. The German Federal Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant for the German-Russian businessman.

While German federal prosecutors did not provide the full name of the suspect, Important Stories, an independent Russian media outlet, claimed that the person involved could be the head of Weicom Systemhaus, Waldemar Weirich.

According to a post shared by Important Stories shared on its Telegram channel, Weirich is also a “board member of the local association (smallest cell) of the Left Party in Saarbrücken’s Mahlstatt district,” which is often criticized for the pro-Kremlin position.

Here's What We Know
The suspect is accused of selling spare parts and electronic components for Russian Orlan-10 reconnaissance-class drones to Russia between 2020 and March 2023. Waldemar W. has already been taken into custody. A criminal case with 26 episodes has been opened against him.

The German prosecutor's office regards the supply of components for the drones as a violation of the Foreign Trade Act and the sanctions regime. The Karlsruhe resident sold the parts via third countries, including Lithuania and the UAE. The value of the supplied components is estimated at €715,000 ($775,000).

“On 26 occasions between January 2020 and March 2023, he exported electronic components to a company in Russia producing military hardware and accessory parts, among them the ‘Orlan-10’ drone currently used by Russian forces in Ukraine,” the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office stated in the arrest warrant.

The drone parts for the Russian military were supplied using front companies in Dubai and Lithuania. The total value of the components sent by Waldemar W. is approximately €715,000.

The Orlan-10 has proven to be crucial for Russian military operations. It is routinely used to gather intelligence, disrupt Ukrainian electronic equipment, and identify potential targets for other Russian attacks in Ukraine.

A fire broke out in the workshop of the research and production company Tomilinsky Electronics Factory in Lyubertsy near Moscow.
Reportedly they produce electronic components for Kalibr missiles.

According to the Mayor of the Moscow region Serhiy Sobyanin, a UAV attack was allegedly repelled in the morning in the Lyubertsi district.

A cold storage facility has caught fire in Russia's city of St Petersburg, with black smoke plumes visible from across the city.

Details: The fire covers an area of about 1,500 square metres, and over 80 people are involved in putting it out. A massive column of grey smoke rises into the sky, covering the city.

The fire has been assigned the second complexity rating (meaning that the fire needs a total of six fire departments to put out). Russians report no casualties.
