Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III

"Russian military commissariats conducted a large-scale handover of enlistment notices to migrants in the South Urals, Russian media report. The event was organized together with the support of OMON special forces and took place at the Chinese market located in the Metallurgical District of Chelyabinsk.

Men who have citizenship but have not joined the military register were handed enlistment notices on the spot. And those who had previously received them but failed to respond, were taken to the military enlistment office."

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III

Dutch brewer Heineken (HEIN.AS) said on Friday it had completed its exit from Russia by selling its operations there to Russia's Arnest Group for a symbolic one euro.

The world's second largest brewer said the deal had received all the required approvals and was likely to leave it with exceptional losses of 300 million euros ($324.8 million).

Heineken announced its intention to exit Russia in March 2022, after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, acknowledging that the process had taken longer than expected.

"Recent developments demonstrate the significant challenges faced by large manufacturing companies in exiting Russia," Chief Executive Dolf van den Brink said in a statement.

Many multinational companies flocked to leave Russia after the West imposed unprecedented sanctions on Moscow, but the Kremlin has retaliated by seizing some assets.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree in July to take control of French yoghurt maker Danone's (DANO.PA) Russian subsidiary along with beer company Carlsberg's (CARLb.CO) stake in a local brewer.

Anheuser-Busch InBev has also said it plans to exit its joint venture in Russia with Turkey's Efes (AEFES.IS).

Heineken had seven breweries in Russia and 1,800 employees, who will receive employment guarantees for the next three years.

The Dutch brewer removed its Heineken brand from Russia last year and production of Amstel is to be phased out within six months.

Heineken said the deal, with no option to buy the business back, included a three-year licence for some smaller regional brands, for which Heineken would not provide brand support or receive any proceeds.

Arnest Group owns a major can packaging business and is the largest Russian manufacturer of aerosols, as well as selling cosmetics and household goods.

Heineken said the transaction will have negligible impact on its full-year outlook.

($1 = 0.9237 euros)

Wow. Add this to the list of things that might piss the remaining Wagner's off enough to do something drastic (switch sides or march on Moscow again )

Wagner Group cemetery in Russia levelled to the ground
UKRAINSKA PRAVDA — FRIDAY, 25 AUGUST 2023, 17:16

Graves at a cemetery for Wagner Group mercenaries in the village of Nikolayevka, Samara Oblast, have had their crosses removed and been bulldozed to the ground.

Source:
Russian media outlet 63.ru

Details: Local residents said that the crosses and wreaths had been piled up like rubbish, and the graves themselves had been levelled to the ground with heavy machinery.

Following publicity on social media, local media outlets reported that the avenue where the Wagnerites were buried would become a flat area of ground. It will be paved with concrete, and a black pyramid will supposedly appear on the site of each grave.

The Wagner mercenaries’ cemetery appeared in Samara Oblast several months ago. Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of the Wagner Group, unveiled a memorial stele at the cemetery in April which, judging by the photographs, has not been demolished.

As yet there has been no official comment from the Samara Oblast authorities on the demolition of the mercenaries' graves.

Background:
  • On the evening of 23 August, a small plane crashed in Russia’s Tver Oblast. The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency said Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of the Wagner Group, was listed as having been on board.
  • The Federal Air Transport Agency’s complete list of passengers on the plane that crashed in Tver Oblast on the evening of 23 August included Yevgeny Prigozhin.
  • Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin was taking revenge for the humiliation caused by the Wagner Group mutiny and ordered the assassination of their leadership.

The Russian government is a real piece of shit even to those who sacrificed their lives to them.

I respect all peoples resting places even if I do not agree with their ideology.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III

No Media:
"Russian media are sharing a new story behind Prigozhin's death: Macron and France will allegedly benefit from this!
They reason that without Prigozhin and Utkin, their PMC will fall apart and lose all the positions they had in Africa, where they were busy "squeezing out" French interests, acting on Putin's orders.

Russian Telegram channels:
"One thing shocks me the most about Prigozhin's death. So many are easily ready to believe that the death of Wagner's founder was revenge for the June mutiny, but they don't give any thought what an incredible, fantastic luck his liquidation was to Paris.

There is significant probability that it won't be possible to hold the African positions Wagner captured for Russia. Control over them was largely tied up in Prigozhin's personal ties and the structure of Wagner itself, which will crumble. "Russian Africa" will crumble with it.

Prigozhin died at the very moment when the French shadow empire faced the crisis in Niger. Losses from that are much more serious for Paris than losing CAR and Mali. Due to the uranium factor, losing control over Niger for the French is economically comparable to losing Algiers.

Now Paris might not only deal with the situation at hand (the elimination of Wagner increases the negotiability of the new authorities in Niamey) but also win back the loss of positions in Bangui and Bamako.

Despite stereotypes, French special services are the real deal. Moreover, their influence is directly tied to the soft power that Paris used for many years in the post-Soviet space, starting with Russia. It's enough to see the number of 'elite' representatives whose children/wives/mistresses have French passports and villas at Côte d'Azur.

Prigozhin's elimination is worth involving all these agents. But it's much easier to mumble that it was Putin who 'decided to pay back for the mutiny', burying the African positions that were so hard to win together with Wagner. The positions that became his, Putin's, geopolitical success"."

Video:

"Russian propagandist Solovyev has also been instructed to hint that Prigozhin's death has something to do with Wagner's activity in Africa (see my previous post for more information)." Previous post is the information above.

The Chinese and Xi will also benefit from this!

Could it be payback from the Chinese to Wagner?
Wagner attacked Chinese interests that were in competition to them and killed several Chinese.

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas faces resignation over her husband's ties to Russia

It turned out that her husband Arvo Hallik continued to do business in Russia. The Estonian opposition is demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister.

Kallas herself says she is not involved in her husband's business and the company Stark Logistics, which is partly owned by her husband, assures that it will stop working with Russia in September. Hallick himself promises to sell all his shares in the company.
