Ukrainian frontline soldiers have also said that the number of shells fired has dropped many times compared to the begining of the war, when they fired 20 000 shells a day according to lower estimates.
That would mean 6 000 000 shells fired throughout the war PLUS shells that were blown up in attacks on ammo dumps. Each ammo dump blow-up could have wasted tens or even hundreds of thousands of shells.

Even the whole western economy at the moment wouldnt be able to keep up such spending. US produces around 15 000 shells a in month...not in a day. I dont know how much russia can produce...but im sure its not nearly as much, since Russia wasnt ready to produce shells.

The question isnt "is Russia running out of ammo" but "Is Russia running out of ammo before Ukraine"

Wagner has had the most success with taking territory recently and Russian MoD is certainly not liking them being overshadowed. It's pretty funny.
