Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
Long story short - in Kherson everything is some what fine. Russians are looking for provocateurs and saboteurs to keep the city safe. Biggest problem they have right now is not able to make plans for near future because there is no certainty. Also she said people will find what they are looking for and gave an example - woman felt down and scratched her face, then later on she told her friend Russians did it, her friend passed it over to another friend and so on.. that’s pretty much it.. Oh and that she’s looking for a |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
"pro-western Ukrainian bandits who took power in 2014"... this jumped out at me... took power of what? Took power of Russia? Took power of a chunk of Russia? Or took BACK power of something they believed to be rightfully theirs that was taken or attempting to be taken from them? lol A large percentage of the population of the Donbas is ethnic Russian, or pro-Russian. But do we really know if they actually want to be officially part of Russia? Or do they still want to be their own republics, but official? Putin didn't give a shit about them from 2014-2022 until HE was ready to carry out his "special military operation". There were already pissed off people there who felt they wanted to fight back against the Ukrainians, as to them, it's where they were born and raised, it's their home. So Putin decides to "give a shit" about them when he's ready to FIRST try to take Kyiv but fails... and now is ready to concentrate on the Donbas. THAT is how he got 50,000 of them to fight for him, I would venture to say. Seems like logic to me. But as I've said, I am not there, not living it. I know we have different perceptions and different feelings on the who, what, why, how, and the rest of it, and we can go back and forth til we're blue in the face, neither you or I are going to end the war and solve everyone's problems. lol The bottom line for me is that it really is a horrible situation all around. That the people of both sides are caught up in "thy bidding" of their Government and are dying for it. I don't condone the deaths of any children for any reason... or indiscriminate killing of civilians. Yes I could be victim of one sided western media but I assure you I do everything I can not to be (anymore). Hence why I came into these discussions with you guys, open minded, with hopes it can stay civil and I'm relieved that it has. It all becomes a moot point when personal insults start flailing about. lol Honestly, maybe Putin and Zelenskyy should just get in a boxing ring and duke it out, man to man. Putin wins, he gets Donbas, keeps Crimea. Zelenskyy wins, he keeps it and gets Crimea back. Everyone goes home, rubs one out, and learns to be grateful for what they have. lol If only it were that simple.

De-escalation by escalation will always have the same exact response. Do you really want a nuclear fallout? I sometimes wonder about people who dream about the nuclear apocalypse. Have you achieved anything in life or this is your full time job to post on forums that cringe russian propoganda?

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
Well, I have IPTV so I get channels from all over the world and the owner of this service is Russian, so I have access to Ukrainian, English, Latvian, and also Russian news channels. The bullshit Russian media is pumping into their citizens' brains is just shocking, that's the least I can say about it. Thank fuck there are decent Russians who have their own opinions about the political situation in Russia. It's always been like this since WW2 - anyone in world that is against Russian despotism is a Nazi. They are gonna hump that word as long as they can... Even though everyone who is a patriot of their country is technically a nationalist, including Russians. |
