Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
• The Ukrainian counteroffensive along a broad arc north and east of Kharkiv city took further terrain and will likely push Russian forces out of tube artillery range of the city in the coming days. The ability—and willingness—of the Ukrainian military to concentrate the forces in Kharkiv necessary to conduct this operation indicates Ukrainian confidence in repelling ongoing Russian attacks with their existing forces in the region. • Russian forces did not make any progress on the Izyum axis. Ukrainian forces continued to repel Russian attacks on the Izyum axis in the last 24 hours, with Kharkiv Oblast civilian leadership reporting that Ukrainian forces inflicted heavy casualties on Russian forces on the outskirts of Barinkove. Russian forces around Izyum remain stalled and additional scattered reinforcements are unlikely to enable renewed advances. • Russian forces likely secured small gains on the outskirts of Severodonetsk in the last 24 hours but are unlikely to successfully surround the town. • Russian forces continued assaults on the Azovstal plant, but ISW cannot confirm any specific advances. Likely widespread civilian resistance to the Russian occupation may additionally be disrupting previously announced Russian plans to conduct a Victory Day exhibition in Mariupol. • There were no significant changes on the southern axis in the last 24 hours. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
“ The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) is a United States–based think tank founded in 2007 by Kimberly Kagan … In 2013, Kagan called for arms and equipment to be supplied to "moderate" rebels, with the hope that a state "friendly to the United States [would emerge] in the wake of Assad." That tells you everything, warmongers with no regard for civilian life, wanting a decade long civil war. You could not see propaganda from reality even if your life depended on it Whiskey. Guess your name is a reference to you being drunk all the time |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
The pure irony. I'm sorry this legitimate report made you sad. Would you prefer the time tested gold standard of misinformation, the Kremlin for your news? The pro-Russian Telegrams, whose recent media are either low quality, dated reposts, or Ukrainian footage they take credit for. RIA Novosti. Interfax. The latter two renowned international jokes. One of the few things the world agrees upon. If this was a different universe and I posted something positive about how Russians are making great progress, with their amazingly intelligent and modern military, you wouldn't have questioned it at all. "That states everything". If you can't figure out my username and its reference to a movie which started out as a book by Robert Heinlein, that's not my problem. You disagreed with a respected organization known for their accuracy. "That states everything". The ISW is still a thing because current policy makers and military leaders (not just American) know it's accurate non-bullshit with a great track record. By the way nice move omitting Kagan's criticism of Obama and Trump policy. Which is well known in military circles. It's almost as if, the ISW has.... non-partisan roots. I can understand why you didn't want to post that part. Quote mining. Be prepared for more bad news in the near future, it won't stop and I'll be here to remind you. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
They had every reason to destroy Ukraine. You will kill your neighbour if your worst enemy who tried to fuck with your money for years, is arming that neighbour for years, training him, and making friends with all your other neighbours, having them point guns at your door and windows. I am pretty sure there is a law in America that gives you the right to kill your neighbour if the above situation applies |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
Russia's isolationism is self-inflicted and you know it. And a government trying to fuck another government doesn't mean mass amounts of civilians need to die. Stop saying stupid things to justify an untenable position, you're not doing yourself a favor. Literally days ago you were advocating for use of a tactical nuke. Disgusting. The reason why NATO countries are anxious about Russia isn't because we want to invade them. That's absurd. It's because Putin and his like are fucking insane. And he clearly wishes to be remembered and make his mark on Russian society. Fuck Russia and the horse they rode in on. Even if your ridiculous claims were true, that means invading Ukraine is justifiable? Perfectly good to go? False and you know it. Here you are whining about "propaganda" and you're literally conveying line-for-line Putin propaganda. Do you even realize this. The "castle law" is state applicable and not sure what you're on about killing neighbors. It depends on where you live. In my state, if someone invades my house with the intent to commit a felony, they can be shot and killed. I have a wife and young son in my house, how would you react? In several months/couple years when all this crap is fully realized, you're going to be denying you believed any of this shit. Right down the memory hole. And considering where in Europe you are, I certainly wouldn't be advertising anything pro-Russian. |
