Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
They could have taken Kiev exactly the same way as US took Bagdad. They are fighting an enemy commiting warcrimes using human shields. You either destroy the shield, or you back off. Russia chose the survival of civilians over their own troops. People will remember this |

China VS taiwan is the same. People will claim that china wanted to take it in x days. But they are the same people, same as former ussr. It’s not like they go into a dessert and kill some Muslims

Apologist statements. You're smarter than that Faust If Putin had a surefire way to take out Zelensky and capture Kyiv he would have done it. He doesn't seem to give a crap about his own people, why would he "be careful" with Ukranians who he's been calling Nazis. Remember that video of that highrise apartment building taking a large rocket? The two civilians talking with Russian troops, walking away and getting a few bullets in the back |

I would also add that if that's the video I'm thinking of. Rocket that hits the Skyrise in Kyiv had a white contrail ( if that's the correct word) white smoke. That indicates that it was anti air rocket, most likely BUK. IMO Ukrainian crew incorrectly calculated trajectory trying to hit flying by Russian rockets or it was a simple malfunction. Russia didn't have any air defense system there yet and "calibers" don't leave white contrail.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
I think you need to look up what "carpet bombing" is. This isn't WW2 American army air corps bombing the shit out of Dresden Germany in 1944 with B-17's. But it's pretty damn clear Russia has been shelling the hell out of places with little to no military presence or value. Because everyone knows Russian military has an artillery army and everything else is support. Their entire doctorine revolves around large indirect fire guns. They have few tools in their toolbox, it's 8lb sledgehammer or nothing. Don't even get me started about how they dealt with Chechnya. Faust brings up decent points here and there, duntez does too and I will often acknowledge them. Sustainability is indeed key We are around day #182 of the war. If we're going to go with the conservative estimate of Russian military deaths in this war so far, let's say 25,000, then would be 138 dead Russian/DNR/LNR soldiers per day. Already at half of total American Vietnam casualties and it's only been.... 6 months. At that rate what would that be if Russia tried to stay for a year after today? That's an absolute catastrophe. And casualties affect an attacking force to a greater degree because attacking is harder as well as more resource demanding. And mind you, these numbers are conservative. It could potentially be as high as 50,000 dead. That would work out to 276 per day. I think the true number is somewhere around 35-40k. There is no army on planet fucking earth that can possibly maintain an attacking force for any significant amount of time with that level of casualties. No one. Not America, not the UK, not Russia. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
It’s over. Russia is dead. They know it and we all know it. China hasn’t backed it up. It was so stupid to expect it. China is 100 business. And China makes the biggest business with USA and EU. russkies. You called it too early. Now you just lose in slow motion. The only thing that is left is to slowly prepare propaganda machine so you don’t look like complete idiots in front of the russkie orc population. |

Dude is banned now, but I'm convinced he's a 13 year old. Trolling is the only thing that brings him any joy. I don't want to speak for the other pro Russians, but if it were me that were aligned with him due similar views and being on the same "side", I'd have to consider switching sides. He would be intolerable regardless of what side he's on.
