Pakistan Declares Open War Against Taliban in Afghanistan

Pakistan has declared an "open war" against the Taliban and carried out airstrikes on Afghanistan.

The strikes were aimed at ammo depots, military facilities, and militant hideouts in various regions of the country, including Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia.

Pakistan's Information Minister Tarar claims that as a result of the operation, 133 Taliban militants were killed and nearly 200 others were injured.

In Pakistan, these actions were described as a response to attacks by Afghan Taliban on Pakistani border posts.

They're cheering, but that has to be exhausting, because Afghanistan quite literally never stops. They live, breathe, sleep and thrive on death and destruction.

A suicide bomber targeted a police checkpoint in the Bhakkar district of Punjab, Pakistan. The Dajal inter-provincial checkpoint, which sits near a strategic bridge connecting Punjab with Dera Ismail Khan.

He detonated his explosives as he approached the post. As a result two police officers were killed. At least five others were injured, including members of a polio vaccination team who were stationed at the checkpoint at the time.

The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claimed responsibility for the blast.

Re: Pakistan Declares Open War Against Taliban in Afghanistan

At a border checkpoint in Pakistan security personnel stopped two individuals who were acting suspiciously near the checkpoint.

During the initial questioning and interrogation process, one of the suspects suddenly attempted to launch an attack against the security forces.

Security forces responded immediately with lethal force, neutralizing both suspects on the spot.

Following the encounter, security forces conducted a search and recovered the following items from the deceased individuals: A variety of firearms and ammunition. Specialized communication equipment, suggesting the individuals were part of a coordinated network rather than acting alone.

The surrounding area and all nearby checkpoints were placed on a state of high alert.

Security forces cordoned off the area to conduct a thorough search for any potential accomplices or additional threats.

Cockroaches don’t give up and no super powers can stop them either. Better to toss in the hat at this point.

Re: Pakistan Declares Open War Against Taliban in Afghanistan

I thought Pakistan and the Taliban were best buddies?
They once were but the issue is the Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan, aka TTP as Pakistan accuses the Afghan Taliban of providing safe haven to TTP militants who launch deadly cross-border attacks into Pakistan.

However the Afghan Taliban denies these claims, calling the TTP an internal Pakistan matter.

The Taliban, like previous Afghan governments, refuses to recognize the durand line
The Durand Line is a 2,640-kilometer (1,640-mile) international border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, established in 1893.

It runs from Iran to China, separating Afghanistan from Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan regions.

It is a highly contested, mostly fenced boundary.
as the official international border.

This has led to more and more violent border skirmishes as Pakistan attempts to fence the entire boundary.

Plus to Pakistan's fright, the Taliban have sought closer ties with India by reopening the Indian embassy in Kabul in 2025 and accepting billions in aid so last year October and February this year, Pakistan launched airstrikes on Afghan cities, including Kabul and Kandahar, targeting TTP camps and Taliban military infrastructure.

The relationship between India and Pakistan has always been hostile.

Re: Pakistan Declares Open War Against Taliban in Afghanistan

The term Kharijite has recently become a central part of the government’s official language regarding national security and counter-terrorism.

As of mid-2024, the Pakistani government and military officially designated the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as Fitna al-Khawarij.

By using this label, the state is stripping the group of any religious legitimacy. They are no longer referred to as Taliban, which means students or seekers but as Kharijites, the historical sect known for extremism and killing fellow Muslims.

When the Pakistani military issues press releases about killing militants in operations, they often use the phrase sent to hell. This aligns with the Hadith that describes Kharijites as the dogs of hellfire, framing the military's fight as a holy duty to protect Islam from deviants.

The government has instructed media and officials not to use religious titles like Mufti or Hafiz for TTP members, insisting they only be called Khariji.

Here are some TTP members that were killed by the Pakistan army and being disposed of by a dump truck.
