Original Prints from Nagasaki
Grandfather brought these back from japan. These are original Yamahata prints from the Nagasaki bombing. Most if not almost all of these were confiscated and destoryed. Extremely rare photographs. Enjoy.

A horrific piece of history that is easily forgotten or overshadowed by other events. Thanks for sharing. |

Re: Original Prints from Nagasaki
The more I read about the Japanese during WWII, the more I see how this was completely justified, even if it didn't stop the war. But it did end the war before an invasion took place. An invasion that could have seen a vast majority of the population fighting to the death. |

Re: Original Prints from Nagasaki
Really haunting find... By this point in the war the Allies moved from precision bombing to carpet bombing targets. It would have made no difference except that the carpet bombing campaign against Japan would have certainly killed many civilians. |
