FYI: due to constant trolling, bickering, name calling, not following thread guidelines or moderator instructions, and rule 10 violations, StrategicNuclearMoose is permanently banned. Yesterday he was infracted for continued trolling after being warned and didn't take it very well.

I spent hours trying to talk to him, and he sent me 18 PMs making demands that I remove his infraction or ban him, engaged in several instances of trolling me both publicly and in PM, and continued doing what I've been telling him to stop doing in these war threads since 9 March.

To further clarify his claims of old footage, he posted several replies to houseoftechno's posts in these threads using google reverse search to "prove" they were old. But kellyhound further explained that this is not always accurate. I did some more digging on this and have summarized KH's explanation along with what I found:

Google reverse image search does not determine the original date of an image or video. It shows where that image, or visually similar versions of it, have appeared online. That can include reposts, cropped versions, unrelated articles, or older pages where a similar image was used in a completely different context. Because of that, it can make content appear “old” when in reality it is just being matched to something similar that was indexed earlier.

This is even more unreliable with social media content. Platforms like Facebook often strip metadata such as EXIF data when images are uploaded, and they also limit how search engines index their content. That means reverse image search is often working with incomplete or misleading information when it comes to tracing origin or date.

Reverse image search can be a useful starting point, but it is not proof on its own that content is old, mislabeled, or propaganda. Proper verification requires actually opening the source links, checking context, dates, and whether the match is even the same image.

Which brings this back to the main issue. If you believe something is false, old, or misleading, the correct procedure is to report it and provide supporting links so moderators can review it. Publicly going after another contributor’s posts with repeated “fuck off” reactions and insults instead of following that process is considered trolling and thread derailment, especially after being warned to stop.

Unless someone else can pick up posting content from that side of the conflict, it will be underrepresented from this point forward. He's likely run off another prolific contributor, so content from both ends may become a little thin.
