Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread VI (2024)

I just heard a report that the Israeli bombing that killed Hassan Nisrallah, was carried out only AFTER an Iranian agent had notified the Israelis that not only Nisrallah, but the Iranian head of the "Religious Guards" or whatever the fuck they call themselves, had BOTH entered the building the Israelis were waiting to strike. Once they heard that, the Israelis launched the raid and killed both of them. BUT IT INDICATES THAT SOMEONE IN IRAN WAS GIVING THE Israelis information IN ORDER TO KILL A PROMINENT IRANIAN INDIVIDUAL. I had heard before that the Iranian government is split along different lines, with the separate groups easily willing to kill people in the other sectors, which is what this looks like they did. The good news is that the asshole who died was one of the Iranian extremists, so it might have been done on behalf of the new Iranian President, who apparently leans towards the west, and negotiation, to solve the Atomic Bomb program and the embargo on Iran. Perhaps the Iranian moderates are culling the heard of the extremist idiots, like the last President, who died in a helicopter crash. If they can gain the upper hand over the extremists, they might be able to clean Iran up a little. The Iranian people DEFINITELY DO NOT support the religious government.

I guess we'll see.

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread VI (2024)

Corrupt as hell meaning enough traitors around.
Over 7,000 Iranians, including convicts and some with ties to the state, own what experts estimate to be billions of dollars of property in Dubai, according to a report by the Netherlands-based outlet Radio Zamaneh.

The information was obtained as part of a monthslong investigative project known as Dubai Unlocked. Journalists from 75 media outlets from across the world, including Radio Zamaneh, pored over the leaked data and have gradually released their findings over the past week.

Radio Zamaneh’s report cites academics and experts who say the total value of properties owned by Iranians in Dubai is around $7 billion.

It notes that while there is a slew of ordinary Iranians who have properties in the United Arab Emirates, there are also convicts, fugitives, and known figures with links to the Iranian establishment.

An office in Dubai’s Aspect Tower worth around $650,000 belongs to Abbas Iravani, a former head of the Ezam Automotive Parts Group who was sentenced to 65 years in prison earlier this year for his involvement in smuggling auto parts, disrupting the economy, and bribing officials. He has denied the charges.

Another prominent figure is Mohammad Emami, an investor and TV producer who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for his involvement in financial corruption. His friend and alleged co-conspirator in the case, Amir Reza Farzanrad, is a fugitive and also implicated in the Dubai Unlocked leaks.

Radio Zamaneh says Emami and Farzanrad each own a villa in the affluent Al-Merkadh neighborhood of Dubai worth $5.5 million and $12 million, respectively.

Convicted steel magnate Rasul Danialzadeh, sentenced to 16 years in prison for bribery, owns $12.6 million worth of property in Dubai, including five apartments in the upscale Al-Thanyah Fifth community and a villa in Palm Jumeirah.

The family of the late former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani feature prominently in the leaks.

His oldest son, former Tehran City Council chairman Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani, owns an apartment worth an estimated $380,000. Mohsen’s son, Ehsan, has a small apartment in Dubai valued at $100,000.

Yasser Hashemi Rafsanjani -- the ex-president’s youngest son -- and his wife, Maryam, own two apartments in the Burj Khalifa worth a combined $1.45 million.

The reports also notes that several dual national Iranians own properties in Dubai, including Mehdi Shams, a former executive at the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line Group.

The report said Shams, who is sentenced to 20 years in prison over his involvement in a multibillion-dollar embezzlement case, purchased a villa valued at $20 million on his British passport.

To put the figures into perspective, the average annual household income in Tehran in the Iranian year 1401 (March 2022-23) was around 2.3 billion rials. That is roughly $3,900 per year, or around $325 a month.

“With a reputation for financial secrecy, low taxes, and an ever-expanding spread of valuable real estate, [Dubai] is an appealing option for those looking to launder or hide cash,” says the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, which along with Norwegian financial outlet E24 coordinated the investigation project.

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread VI (2024)

The US has indications that Iran is preparing to "imminently" launch a missile attack on Israel, according to several news agencies.
AFP cites a US official as its source, and Reuters and Axios cite separately a senior White House official.
The US official reportedly tells AFP an attack on Israel would carry "severe consequences for Iran".

I suppose they are watching closely with the spy satellites and can see them
Being prepped.

Hezbollah lost the war of intelligence.

Greater conflict now with usa involvement will likely see wars across the globe in different hot spots great and small. It's bad for business, as much as I want the bad guys to lose, I need to make money.

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread VI (2024)

I wounder why there are no fatalities and no heavy damage reported. There were several vids showing missile raining down left and right. Did they just hit empty areas (these get ignored by missile defense anyways)? Or reduced payload to trigger no US intervention?

Dunno after seeing some footage I expected mass casualties...

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread VI (2024)

Maybe the Americans allowed the Iranians to have that last strike and have told the Israelies not to retaliate. Now Iran will stop and that could be an end to it. awaiting the next few days with baited breath.

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread VI (2024)

I think AI is used to determine which missiles will hit civilian areas, so it prioritizes those missiles and it may have been overwhelmed I think they only have a couple running around Israel.
But I'm just an atheist Australian

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread VI (2024)

Iranian state television claimed victory after the attack, saying many missiles had made it through Israel's defense systems and hit their targets.
That ain't true as some missiles caused (minor) damage and only one was killed, a palestinian guy in Jericho, by fallen missile debris so it might be the fact the Iranian regime had to do something after Israel killed Haniyeh in Tehran in August plus the recent ground attack of Israel in Lebanon. Remember they did fire hundreds of missiles after the Syrian consulate attack back in April which also caused little damage.

So the regime was forced to do something again. They even warned Russia AND the U.S. on forehand so they probably knew the US would share it with Israel so that's pretty stupid from Iran so they knew Israel would be prepared and could take action, together with the US so not many casualties would be taken place. In the media they talk about a success and 400 missiles while it were little to 200 and no success. Propaganda for their own people imo.

They also warned next time 1,000 missiles will be fired but also made a statement today:
Iran’s legal, rational, and legitimate response to the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime—which involved targeting Iranian nationals and interests and infringing upon the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran—has been duly carried out.

Should the Zionist regime dare to respond or commit further acts of malevolence, a subsequent and crushing response will ensue. Regional states and the Zionists’ supporters are advised to part ways with the regime.
This also means there will be no more missiles today or tomorrow and they wait for an Israelian response, that will probably come unless the US pulls some strings. At the moment Israel is too busy with Hezbollah and Hamas so we will see what happens.
