IDF official statement on Beirut attack last night

IDF spokesman: Underground and in the heart of Hezbollah's stronghold in Beirut, top commanders of the Radwan Force in the terrorist organization Hezbollah were eliminated by IDF airstrikes

In a precise attack last night (Friday), Air Force fighter jets, under the intelligence guidance of the intelligence wing, attacked and killed the head of the operations array and the commander of the Radwan force of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, Ibrahim Akil, during a meeting with commanders from the Radwan force in the Dahi'ya neighborhood.

Hezbollah’s military chain of command has been almost completely dismantled after a dozen significant terrorists including Ibrahim Aqil were eliminated yesterday.

We will continue operating against any terrorist organization that poses a threat to our civilians on all fronts.

(All 15 Hez soldiers on the tan scorecard were killed in last night's Dahi'ya air strike.)

Collateral damage is a legal thing in terms of laws of war. This has to be clearly said. If there are operatives, missiles or any other military assets in a civilian house or neighborhood, it becomes a legal target.

There is also no clause regarding proportionality. So if there's one armed guy shooting from a building with 100 civilians in it (or out of a hospital window, as it happened in Gaza), the structure completly loses any legal protection it might have had. Theoretically you could strike without doing a warcrime.

So what US did is and was legal. Maybe IAF should also worry more to win the war as quickly as possible. Instead of caring that much to keep the enemy alive and even well supplied.

It's kind of funny that Hezbollah and its thralls keep insisting it's all Israeli propaganda that Lebanon is hiding missiles inside civilian homes in the southern regions of the country and that the actual military bodies and command centers of Hezbollah are located inside impregnable mountains, like something out of the science fiction film Colossus: The Forbin Project where the giant supercomputer that takes over the world is inside a mountain fortified by miles of steel that can withstand nuclear blasts Arabs are so funny and entertaining sometimes with their wild claims of being an all-mighty and impervious fighting force

That song made me lol but its so wrong on so many levels. propaganda 101 there. I bet the arabs don't think its catchy. shiiit. yeah.. deep.

I still wonder about what the possible response may be from Iran. It would be nice to see an end to the bloodshed, but we all know there is always another to take the posts up who often are even worse than the last.

Now its time to find all the supposed tunnels and missiles that spread for miles and miles and blow them up. There is so much more to consider, and yet how do you convince any of them that peace is the answer.

It would be nice to see Gaza built into a shiny new city where people want to live instead of the shithole it is now. their standards of living compared to their nieghbour looks dire.
