I literally get the feeling that the Palestinians can't build anything but tunnels (though I did see video of a young woman in Gaza amidst the ruins making wonderful baked designs with flour though). When I was 8, I saw a strange, rat-like animal scuttling across in my yard with no eyes and a long worm-like thing for a nose/tongue/mouth. It was trying dig a tunnel. I was repulsed by the creature. I learned later it was a mole.

Well, Palis getting entirely funded and maintained by the intl community. UN, bilateral payments, a myriad of NGOs. They don't need to have a economy. Or a healthcare system. Schools? Food supply? Electricity? Fuel? Education system in general?

All this is taken care of by intl bodies or even Israel. This means they can fully focus on just beeing terrorists. Imagine they'd need to actually work to sustain themselves. Instead of investing everything in tunnels and guns, they'd need to also maintain hospitals, schools, food supplies and all the infrastructure any society needs to live.
