Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread IX (2025)
It is important not to conflate these things or assume anything without the facts. This did not happen in Gaza for starters, and no one knows if the kid was a terrorist. (except you by your unrealistic assumptions that all breathing Palestinians are terrorists Here is what is known: On December 22, 2025, a 16 year old Palestinian named Rayyan Mohammad Abu Mualla was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank town of Qabatiya during a military raid. The Israeli military initially said he had thrown a block at troops, but CCTV footage that later circulated appears not to show him throwing anything at the time he was shot. Israeli officials have said the shooting is under review, and Palestinian authorities have disputed the military account. The conflicting reports mean the full context is still being examined and is not yet clear. On December 15, 2025, there was a separate incident in the West Bank involving a 16 year old Palestinian boy, Ammar Yaser Sabbah, who was shot and killed by Israeli forces during a raid in the town of Tuqu. The Israeli military described the situation as involving rocks thrown at soldiers and said its response was part of a larger security operation. Palestinian officials said the shooting was indiscriminate. Another related death happened on December 16, 2025, when a civilian Israeli settler reportedly shot a different 16 year old, Muheeb Jibril, after a funeral in the same area. Reports say police were questioning the settler. These incidents are part of a pattern of escalating violence in the West Bank with repeated military raids, clashes, and settler attacks in recent months. It is important to distinguish between different deaths, different contexts, and claims that are still under investigation, instead of reducing them to simple unverified assertions about terrorism or intent. Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread IX (2025)
Israel will investigate and will continue to avoid civilian casualties. Meanwhile, hundreds of rockets will be launched into Israeli schools and neighborhoods without similar complaint back.....irony.

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE/IRAN/LEBANON Conflict Discussion Thread IX (2025)
I understand and agree, for the most part. These things are difficult to discuss for me because I do not throw people of particular groups into the same box. My only personal disagreement in this conversation is with v1r's long standing claim that every Palestinian is automatically a terrorist. We have gone in circles on that many times. I am sure Israel will investigate. I believe they do generally try to avoid civilian casualties, though there have clearly been cases where that has not happened. Hamas tends to target civilians by nature, and that is what places them higher on the evil scale in my view. Terrorists will be terrorists and they're all bad. I have seen misinformation circulate from all ends, so my duty as a moderator is simply to clarify where needed and keep things grounded in facts rather than assumptions. Innocent people are dying on both sides. Hamas initiated this round, so naturally Israel responded. They had to. As always, my sympathy lies with the innocent people in the middle, regardless of where they are from.
