Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread V (2024)

Those poor pallys in Rafah facing the upcoming Israeli onslaught(er). It will be like the french defending France in WWII in 1940 so poorly and ineptly that the germans occupied the country within 6 weeks, except that the pallys don't have tanks, proper infantry, heavy machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, etc or even the faintest semblance of a modern era army or competent general or commander. They were too busy digging tunnels underground for 20 years and sitting on resin furniture

Dunno for me the war seems kind of stuck for Israel. Ppl wouldn't admit it, but except some targeted strikes and limited ground ops... Well, there's a defacto ceasefire since 2-3 months. After Khan Yunis, all major ground operations stopped. When I consider the massive political pressure on Israel .... I guess Hamas political victory is quite possible.

Israel is too divided, has not a single real ally, all just try to hold them back and to sabotage their war effort. Finally Israeli society just can't deal with the hostage issue. A decade ago Hamas had just 1 nerd IDF soldier (who forget his gun inside the APC and and somehow got seperated from his squad...). An idiot, to put it mildly. And even that single IDF hostage made Israel suffer for 5 years and at the end they released 1000 (!) high profile terrorists to get him back. Among them the masterminds of the October 7th incursion. Neverever this idiot was worth that and 10 years later the ones which got released killed over 100o Israelis and took like 200 new hostages. Who would have thought.

Hamas knows this, and so they released another hostage video. One US and an Israeli hostage asking to press for a permenent ceasefire, praising Hamas, denouncing Israeli gouvernemt. Hamas can do what they want, they have worldwide allies and sympaties. This will be decisive.

We used to shoot college student protestors in the 60s in USA. Probably something not to repeat, cuz of, you know, democracy.

You obviously keep on top of things in this conflict and your opinions are very informed. However, if they find and kill Yahya Sinwar (which I think they eventually will), and make HAMAS an outlaw organization resulting in immediate action to remove any attempts to get back into power in Gaza, I would consider that a victory more for the Israelis than those disgusting HAMAS pigs

For this they need to take Rafah. These pointless talks and endless negotiations need to end. Someone in Israeli gouvernment finally needs to tell the public that the hostages can't be saved for the sake of the nation.

I took this literally when I first read it and pictured you personally aiming a shotgun or a .30-30 out your passenger side truck window at protestors and saying, "Get a haircut! How 'bout I blow your brains out? *boom* Oooops!" and was like WTF? Ah, yes the days of Kent State! I wouldn't shoot a protestor though. Just a good spanking after slinging them over my shoulder and taking them to the shed if they mouth off at me

young and dumb, give them time. I wasted alot of time putting up posters for awareness against child soldier, the whole Kony movement.... long ago and long forgotten. Then our brave leader got drunk and high at the bar and started jerking off in public. I will never forget that as long as I live.

Young people are passionate... and dumb like we all were.

Most these protestors have one hand up in the air with cell phone because they all want to be Tik tok famous.

I am looking forward to seeing some good beatings though by police or whatever of those clueless protestor kids who use words like "genocide" while talking about sending the jews back to Poland
