So are journalists a special bunch? Maybe Assad should round up all of his journalists and send them out to get slaughtered to garner the sympathy of the West.

Until recently the west was supporting ISIS, the only difference was we were calling them "rebels"........ I remember that certain republicans were quite upset when Obama refused to get involved militarily to remove Assad.

Now we see what Assad was up against, and why he figured using gas was a viable option. I also wonder how far into Iraq ISIS would have made it with Saddam still in control? My guess is not very fucking far.
Its easy for people here to sit back and call leaders like Saddam and Assad brutal etc etc, but the bottom line is in that part of the world if you're not at least as brutal as your opposition you won't stay in power.

Personally I felt better about those guys than ISIS, ISIS is hell bent on starting world war 3...... They are by FAR the scariest threat to come along in a long, long time.

thanks to the help of U.S. airstrikes, Iraqi and Kurdish forces are slowly retaking territory back from the IS. Looking forward to seeing these monkey barbarians getting slaughtered by the thousands.
