Re: 2023 Conflict in Sudan, Africa (Mega Thread)
1. "This is how the streets of Khartoum look like, where the current civil war continues." 2. "Sudanese rebels defeated a column of government troops near the town of Salih Omdurman and took dozens of soldiers prisoner. Meanwhile, battles across the country have been going on for the third week and have claimed the lives of hundreds of people (from what is confirmed). Both sides declare that they are champions of democracy and are trying to establish peace and order in the country, but the enemy is interfering with them and disrupting the ceasefire. The situation in Sudan increasingly resembles a civil war, in case of failure to resolve the conflict diplomatically, it will become such in reality."

Re: 2023 Conflict in Sudan, Africa (Mega Thread)
"Fighters of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) released a video from the Sudanese Presidential Palace located in Khartoum. Fighters appear to be armed with rather noteable Chinese FN-6 (CH-SA-10) MANPADS and ex-Saudi G3A4 rifles brought from Yemen "

Re: 2023 Conflict in Sudan, Africa (Mega Thread)
1. Montage of the RSF fighting against the Sudanese government titled "Khartoum has fallen!" according to the latest information that the RSF has posted, they control 95%. 2. RSF gaining control of the Bahri area in Khartoum. 3. Sudanese MiG pilot striking RSF positions 4. RSF downs Sudanese aircraft over Khartoum |

Re: 2023 Conflict in Sudan, Africa (Mega Thread)
1. One of the biggest malls in Khartoum, on fire. RSF claims it was bombed by Sudanese aircraft. Sudanese claim RSF were looting it for food and torched the place after. 2. Ongoing clashes in Khartoum. In more (relatively) mild news a Turkish ambassador had his vehicle shot at earlier today, both sides blame each other. Both sides agree that the Turkish embassy should be moved to Port Sudan. |

Re: 2023 Conflict in Sudan, Africa (Mega Thread)
In my montage post, I was incorrect about it being solely RSF, it was both the RSF and the Sudanese sharing about half of the glory each. I'm somewhat tired. From what I can gather, the RSF initially had pretty much no tanks and no aircraft to launch many of the attacks as shown in that montage. An interesting Twitter thread for anyone that wants to see what they're looking like now. They've pulled a Taliban and have managed to get huge swathes of tanks, aircraft and other weaponry. It's suggested by a leak recording (though I have no way of verifying it) that the UAE is behind the coup attempt to replace the Sudanese government with the RSF as their vessel. Then there's Khalifa Haftar, a Libyan warlord that's been helping them prepare for the last several months as well. The UAE providing most of the weapon assistance. Russia had some more devious role too, it doesn't look like they've helped at all, playing both parties for fools. Wagner allegedly has been spotted training the RSF. The Russians supposedly have no real allegiance to either side, whatever side lets them keep leeching them dry will be their friend. The Russians are getting billions a year in gold from their mines. It's a very interesting conflict that looks as if it could potentially spiral into a proxy conflict if not put under wraps, I've managed to get into contact with a few people over social media in Sudan (thank god for google translate |

Re: 2023 Conflict in Sudan, Africa (Mega Thread)
1. "The civil war in Sudan is intensifying, already with hundreds of dead, and each side claims "victories", mainly in the Khartoum area. This is a video from yesterday of the rebels, warning the ruler Abdel Fattah Burhan, that they will eliminate him. "Burhan the traitor". The war is of great concern to Egypt and neighboring Saudi Arabia."

Re: 2023 Conflict in Sudan, Africa (Mega Thread)
8 May 1. "Rapid Support Forces (RSF) released a new video from a captured Industrial Complex." 2. "A recently released video of the Rapid Support Forces (#RSF) reinforcements on their way to #Khartoum . The group seemingly operates at least four 9K33M2/M3 'Osa-AK(M)' surface-to-air missile systems. These systems were originally captured from Sudanese Armed Forces."

"Sudan: Rapid Support Forces (RSF) released a video of an allegedly destroyed aircraft of Sudanese Air Forces in Bahri (Khartoum North). The video shows a burned 80mm B-8V20-A rocket launcher; possibly belongs to a Mi-24/Mi-35 attack helicopter."
