USCGC Oliver Henry Moves Injured Boy from Satawal to Woleai
USCGC Oliver Henry (WPC 1140) arrived at Satawal, Yap State, Federated States of Micronesia, to deliver drought relief supplies in partnership with USAID and the International Organization for Migration. The crew was told a 9-year-old boy had been injured in a fall from a tree. The cutter's EMT consulted a U.S. Coast Guard flight surgeon, who recommended a medevac. The boy and his parents were moved from Satawal to Woleai during a more than 13-hour overnight transit, with care provided aboard the cutter. On April 12, 2024, the family boarded a Pacific Mission Aviation flight from Woleai to Yap for a higher level of medical care.
