Six Rescued After Tugboat Collision Near Goat Island
The Coast Guard and a partner agency rescued six people after a tugboat pushing a barge collided with two recreational boats near Goat Island, Texas, on July 30, 2022. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received the report on VHF-FM channel 16. One recreational boat had two people aboard and the other had four. A Coast Guard Station Galveston 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew surveyed the two recreational boats moored near Goat Island following the collision.
