The Coast Guard and local partner agencies responded to a capsized vessel near D.L. Bliss State Park at Lake Tahoe on Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2025.

Six people were reported dead, two people were taken to a local hospital, and the search for two missing people was ongoing.

At about 3 p.m., a Coast Guard Station Lake Tahoe crew diverted to assist California State Parks and the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office after a report of 10 people in the water.

Those aboard were on a 27-foot gold Chris-Craft vessel that reportedly capsized due to a large swell. Weather was reported as 30-knot winds and 6-to-8-foot swell.
