Neah Bay Assists Algoma Niagra on St. Clair River
Coast Guard Cutter Neah Bay (WTGB 105) assisted the Algoma Niagra, a 740-foot commercial vessel, while it was transiting the St. Clair River on Jan. 27, 2026. The Neah Bay made passes around the freighter to free it from the ice as part of Operation Coal Shovel, which keeps commerce moving through the Lower Great Lakes.
