Man Rescued from Annaly Bay Carambola Blowhole

A 65-year-old man was rescued at the Annaly Bay Carambola tide pools in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, on Nov. 22, 2022, after he was pulled under and trapped in a blowhole.

St. Croix Rescue, Department of Planning and Natural Resources, and Virgin Island Fire Emergency Medical Service units rescued him. A Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew hoisted the man and transported him to the airport in St. Croix, where VIFEMS personnel received him and took him to a local hospital.
