Coast Guard Rescues 22 Off Rodriguez Key Sailing Vessel
The Coast Guard rescued 22 people from an overloaded, unsafe sailing vessel off Rodriguez Key, Florida, on Nov. 21, 2022. A good Samaritan reported the vessel to Sector Key West watchstanders. Coast Guard Station Islamorada followed the overloaded vessel, and rescue crews battled six to ten-foot seas and 25 mile per hour winds while removing those aboard. A Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba crew member carried two children rescued from the vessel, and a crew member fed a rescued child.  ·  ·  ·
