Over the weekend, a ferry with 280 people on board caught fire off the coast of Indonesia, resulting in at least one death and triggering a dramatic rescue effort.

The vessel was en route from the Talaud Islands to Manado when flames broke out around 12 PM local time on Sunday.

Startling footage captured passengers leaping into the ocean as the upper deck was consumed by fire, sending dense smoke into the air.
