Coast Guard Responds to Aground Vessels in Maui

Coast Guard Marine Safety Team Maui and Coast Guard Sector Honolulu personnel responded with Department of Land and Natural Resources personnel after storms left vessels aground in Maui.

The details provided focus on Hula Girl, a 65-foot commercial catamaran aground on the north side of Honolua Bay. The four crew members aboard safely disembarked after it ran aground during inclement weather.

Personnel were working to mitigate any environmental hazards. Coast Guard Marine Safety Team Maui assessed the scene and reported no signs of pollution.

Captions list the grounding date as Jan. 31, with one giving 2025 and another giving 2024.
