Coast Guard Rescues Two from Sailboat 130 Miles Off NC
A Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew rescued two men on Jan. 28, 2025, approximately 130 miles east of Wilmington, North Carolina. Their 32-foot sailboat, Walrus, had begun sinking. The helicopter crew hoisted the two men from the vessel and transported them to shore, where they were reported in stable condition with no injuries.
