Coast Guard Rescues Hurricane Ian Survivors in Pine Island Sound
A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew finished a first wave of rescues after Hurricane Ian made landfall Sept. 29, 2022, locating and transferring numerous storm survivors to hospitals in Ft. Myers. In Pine Island Sound, the crew located one survivor by his EPIRB signal, hoisted him, and transported him and another survivor to Lee Memorial Gulf Coast Hospital in Ft. Myers.  ·  ·
