Coast Guard Rescues 2 Off Hilton Head Island
A Coast Guard Air Station Savannah aircrew rescued two men from a disabled fishing vessel 10 miles east of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, on March 17, 2023. The owner of the fishing vessel contacted Coast Guard District Seven watchstanders for assistance. The aircrew hoisted the two men off the vessel and transferred them to Hilton Head Island Airport. No medical injuries were reported. Commercial salvage plans are being coordinated by the fishing vessel's owner.  ·  ·  ·
