Coast Guard Rescues 2 After Sailboat Sinks Near Winyah Bay
A Coast Guard Station Georgetown 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew rescued two people from the water near Georgetown, South Carolina, on Oct. 13, 2023. Their 44-foot sailing vessel had sunk near the jetties by the entrance to Winyah Bay. The crew recovered the two people, treated them for shock and hypothermia, and transported them to Station Georgetown, where emergency medical services personnel were waiting.  ·  ·
