A Coast Guard aircrew aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Sector Columbia River hoisted a Navy sailor who needed a higher level of medical care from the deck of a Navy destroyer early Sunday morning, March 6, west of the Oregon coast.

An escorting sailor was also hoisted from the destroyer.

Coast Guard helicopter crews in the Pacific Northwest had increased training with Navy destroyer crews in recent months and used that familiarity during the hoist.
