Coast Guard Hoists 7 from Tug Off Ocean City
The tug Legacy and its barge were disabled 30 miles offshore from Ocean City, Maryland, on Jan. 15, 2023, after a tow line snapped. Legacy was towing a 290-foot barge from New Jersey to Guyana when its 1,000-foot towing line became entangled and fouled the propellers. A crew member said the tug was inoperable and those aboard were preparing to abandon ship. The Coast Guard hoisted the tug's seven crew members.  ·  ·
