On Oct. 19, 2022, a 24-foot Special Purpose Craft-Shallow Water boat crew from Coast Guard Station South Padre Island assisted at a fire at Oyster Cove Condominiums in Port Isabel, Texas.

The crew brought Brownsville Fire Department and Port Isabel Fire Department firefighters closer to the burning condos and piers than they could get by land.

Firefighters used a Coast Guard P-6 dewatering pump during the response, and Coast Guard crew members also used a P-6 pump to help put out the fire.
