8 Rescued from Boat Taking on Water Off Fort Morgan
Eight boaters were rescued Saturday, November 12, 2022, after their vessel began taking on water about 19 miles south of Fort Morgan, Alabama. Watchstanders received a mayday call over VHF channel 16 and coordinated the launch of multiple Coast Guard assets. A Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew hoisted the boaters, and a Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew also responded. All eight were transported to Mobile International Airport to awaiting emergency medical services personnel and were last reported in stable condition.
