Roseville Train Yard Explosion, 1973

In 1973, Navy bombs inside rail cars began exploding at the Roseville Train Yard. Residents living nearby were evacuated.

The blast damaged homes more than a mile away and buried some of the bombs. One buried bomb was found in the late 1990s and destroyed in a controlled explosion.
