MV Explorer Sank After Antarctic Iceberg Collision
On November 23, 2007, the Liberian-registered cruise ship MV Explorer struck an iceberg in the Antarctic Ocean and sank. It was the first cruise ship to sink in those waters. All 153 passengers and crew were evacuated and rescued before the vessel went down. Crew errors were listed as the main cause of the collision.
