Chernobyl Reactor 4 After the April 1986 Explosion
Reactor 4 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded on April 26, 1986. Inside the destroyed reactor hall, the 1,000-ton upper biological shield was blown off by the explosions and came to rest nearly on its side.  ·
