Re: MARYLAND: Ship Strikes Bridge and It Collapses
The company that operates the Dali container ship that destroyed the Key Bridge in Baltimore has confirmed that the entire crew was Indian. All the 22 Sailors were from India with a Ukrianian captain. Ship full of Indians under the command of a Ukrainian capitain, sounds like a sit-com idea to me. |

Re: MARYLAND: Ship Strikes Bridge and It Collapses
A man who was working on the bridge said their were several men working on potholes that night, the only reason he survived was because he got moved to another worksite.

Yes, you can see their vehicles (with flashing lights) parked on the bridge when it collapses. Currently there are said to be six people missing, apparently from the road crew on the bridge. |

Re: MARYLAND: Ship Strikes Bridge and It Collapses
If drivers were prevented from going across because a collision was expected, why did the workers on the bridge stay there?

Re: MARYLAND: Ship Strikes Bridge and It Collapses
There was roughly 2 minutes warning. Law enforcement was stationed at either ends of the bridge due to the road works, and that was enough time to tell them to stop traffic entering the bridge. It was not enough time to get the road workers off the bridge.

Re: MARYLAND: Ship Strikes Bridge and It Collapses
Instead of using tugs, which the passage isn't wide enough for two way tug and ship passage, they require two captains familiar with the area be in the bridge at the same time. This was always Hoang to happen. Maryland k ew this was an issue, you can see by the "Dolphins", or riprap rocks and concrete protecting the power wires near the bridge. They protected the power grid but never the bridge. Had a terrorist hit the bridge during morning/ evening rush hour then thousands would have lost their lives on that bridge. And there are many, many, many other bridges vulnerable in the USA! It is crazy the state of Maryland gambled with so many lives for so long!
