Man Tapes F4 Tornado Ripping Through His House
One killed, as many as 75 injured in storm which flattened parts of Washington, IL on Nov 17.

A preliminary damage assessment survey team indicates the tornado was a F4, with peak wind gusts for 170-190 miles per hour.

The city's mayor says many families have lost everything.

Six were killed statewide, with dozens more hurt, hundreds of homes damaged and thousands left without power.

Tazewell County, which includes Washington, is one of 7 counties declared disaster areas by Governor Quinn.

A 51-year-old Washington man is one of those reported to be dead, and a nearby hospital tweeted that more than 50 people had been treated there.

It's believe another 25 may have suffered injuries from the storm.

Police are asking people to stay out of the area while rescue officials continue to attempt to account for all residents and make sure no one is trapped.

Looking at the damage, it's amazing so few were killed, although residents say they did have plenty of warning and time to seek shelter.

Another factor may have been timing.
Many were away at church about the time the storm him Sunday morning.

That's what insurance is for, I'm sure they had it. Anyone living in the states that owns a home, especially ones that live in tornado areas, has insurance. It looked like they lived in an upscale neighbourhood, and they had a nice house and nice things it looked like, the tv was huge, there was exercise equipment (poor folk don't have funds for exercise equipment that shit is expensive) I'd bet a million bucks they had insurance.

However that doesn't replace sentimental and personal items like wedding dresses, or photo albums but at least you'll still have a house.

But holy fuck was that terrifying! That video really made you feel for those people, you could hear the terror in Josie's sobbing...that would be fuckin horrible, I can't even imagine what it would be like to experience something like that. Those poor people. And poor neighbours! I hope everyone and all pets were ok, but somehow I doubt it.
