Canal in Irrigation Project Breaks Down
Brazil, Yesterday a canal broke down in Salgueiro after work of the third pumping station of the Northern Axis (EBI-3) was delivered on August 3 by President Michel Temer. The canal is part of the Northern Axis of the Integration/Irrigation Project of the São Francisco River, which lies between the municipalities of Terra Nova and Salgueiro. According to the Ministry of Irrigation there is suspicion that it was a criminal act. The Military Police of Pernambuco arrested suspects of having committed the damage to the canal stretch. Residents say those involved wanted to divert the waterway from that point so that it would be possible to fill a reservoir nearby. With the disruption, the waters are flowing in Riacho Grande, which passes through the district of Umãs in Salgueiro and following to the municipality of Pernambuco in Terra Nova. In a note, the Ministry of Irriration reported that it was a punctual disruption and technicians are already in place, working for recovery of the structure that should be normalized within 48 hours. They also appointed teams to check the entire perimeter and evaluate possibilities of damages to surrounding communities. |

Re: Canal in Irrigation Project Breaks Down
OOOO, I'm sorry. The first thing I do is to use the forum tools to sort posts in chronological order. So, I am expecting the newest posts at the top. I see now that you posted this way back in 2018. Not understanding why this post was at the top of the pile. Me Sorry. |

Re: Canal in Irrigation Project Breaks Down
That's the way this forum is set up. Making a comment bumps the thread to the top of page 1 so others can read the comment and react to it plus if anyone has more/new info others can read it also instead of being buried at page 40 or so. That's why we try to tell people not to bump too many older threads with no info comments. There's a way to watch threads in chronological order though: https://www.documentingreality.com/f...-order-199463/ |

Re: Canal in Irrigation Project Breaks Down
Thanks for the link, I gave that method a whirl, not really liking it. I prefer to have the threads sorted newest to oldest, and the comments within the threads sorted from oldest to newest.
