Brumadinho Tailings Dam Collapse, January 25, 2019
A tailings dam at an iron ore mine in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil, collapsed on January 25, 2019, triggering a massive slide downhill. People on the dam and in a field below were caught in the collapse, along with a car. The reported death toll was 121.
