Boilers Explode in Staged Texas Train Crash, 1896
On September 15, 1896, two locomotives were deliberately sent into a head-on collision on a dedicated track in Texas as a publicity stunt known as the Crash at Crush. Both locomotives' boilers unexpectedly exploded. Two onlookers were killed and others were injured.  ·
