Beirut Port Warehouse Explosion, 2020
A warehouse explosion at the Port of Beirut in 2020 sent a shockwave across the city, killing hundreds of people and injuring many more. The port was left heavily destroyed. The grain silos remained standing for a time but were reported to be close to collapse. Investigations into the explosion were obstructed, and no one had been held accountable.
