Bandsaw Strikes Embedded Metal in a Log

A bandsaw struck an embedded metal object in a log, likely larger than a standard nail. The initial impact damaged several teeth on the blade.

With teeth missing, the blade pulled toward the center of the log and cut into the chain drive feeding the log through the mill. The blade then snapped and the machine shut down automatically.
